...and 'pickle is probably right about the windshield mounts. The fork wings would go on the lower sections, now that I look closer.

The Timing belt covers are not great. Chrome is peeling. Is the chrome finish standard?

What fits onto these two round protruding sections with a hole in each?

That is one of the ones I was looking at. It seems all US based. They would hardly allow the likes of me to play.

Chrome on the timing covers was factory. The two protruding frame stubs are mounting lower points for the factory engine crash guard.

I don't frequent that board much. Really, I only go for the technical archives. There's waaaayyyy too much political banter infusing the forums. Not well policed at all. Not sure about tolerance level for Europeans (or others). Can't imagine why that would be a problem - and don't recall anything to that effect.

Don't feel too bad Liam, They don't like me on the valkyrieriders forum either.
I guess that I just ain't cool enough for them.
Oh Well, screw 'em - 115K on my Valk right now and still going strong.

I don't worry about it really. I stay away from political or religious stuff generally.
I feel that most of those that try to make themselves out to be cool are pitiful creatures.
The REAL cool ones just are, they don't need to fake it.

Major cool factor Liam, even without being the Dragon Master! I can't get enough of resurrection projects like this, regardless of the bike. Have fun!

How does it run? With all that surface corrosion I would suspect that maybe the internals of the carbs may not be so good. A friend of mine stored a Valk in his garage for a friend of his who went off on a multi-year bender. Never came back to claim the bike. Since the bike wasn't my friend's he did nothing with it while it sat forlornly in his garage. Finally the owner determined he would never ride again and gifted the bike to my friend. After several attempts to get the bike to run correctly the carbs ended up having to be replaced as the internal carb bodies had pitted to the point that no amount of tuning, cleaning or re-jetting was ever going to correct them. At the time, several years ago, that set of carbs new cost over $1,0000.

It does run very well. I need to do a major service, oil, filter, belts but it starts and runs beautifully.
Would waken the dead, mind you, with those straight pipes.

By the way, with regard to Valkyrie discussions on this forum, what is a Standard Valkyrie if not a naked Goldwing?
