Took advantage of the good weather to practice some social distancing. Happy to say after the winter layup the bike still runs like a sewing machine.

.....No. No, I don't think I have.

The 1200 is a beautiful bike, and I love what I've done with it. But I think I'm going to love a Honda Valkyrie even more. I've got a decent chunk of money saved up for one, and selling my Standard would take care of the rest of it.

I've made some great memories on my 1200. Buut it's time for somebody else to make some of their own, I think.

Well, if the goal is a Valk, I cannot argue. It'd be too much utility overlap. And there's no better road bike you can find for the money. First Gen Valkyrie prices have gotten very attractive.

Go for it and Good Luck!

1st gen Valk in 2-tone is IMHO, the most beautiful mass-produced motorcycle (and I don't like chrome).

Beautiful they are and the best thing is, once you try a 6 banger, you'll never look back.

I’m kind of partial to this one. One of three two-wheeled six-bangers in the garage. And no, it’s not for sale…

Hm. Interesting. There's some stuff that makes a lot of sense, and a couple things that give me pause.

If I make it through Mid-Ohio (depending on whenever it gets rescheduled, if at all) and the bike still hasn't sold, I may give it a look.

(The reserve helps, but auctions tend to make me twitchy. My luck usually isn't good enough to benefit as a seller from the format. ;) )

Also, speaking of luck, while on a ride this last weekend, I managed to snap the speedo cable about 5 miles from home. :IDTS: I've got another on the way, but it may take a minute to get here.

I do love the big girl but they're not entirely without any downsides.

They're a bit ponderous in parking lots and after getting back on a 4-cylinder wing, you'll think it was a CB200.
I also miss the full-wrap engine guards on my 83 1100 that allowed about 6 different foot positions. Especially during daylong rides.

Admittedly, not many downsides. And I have to agree, they are about the prettiest things out there. You will enjoy it.
