1985 GL1200 with motorvation sidecar

#1

Post by rcmatt007 »

We have been looking at "the collection" and Beth realized that while she has loved her sidecar bike, we are not riding it and the time has come to part company.

we are the original owners. Stator was replaced about 7 years ago. Carbs rebuilt with randakks kit. SS brake lines. The motorvation sidecar was bought new in about 2005. The current paint job was done ~5 years ago. Just recently did the head gaskets.

Geez Doc, that's a hard one! But someone is going to get a real bargain; beautiful combo and so well looked after.

This getting older is getting to be a real pain. I keep looking at mine and wondering the same; is it time to let go?

It's not the age, but the problems along with it. My spine is pretty wrecked, so there has been no riding for some time on Docs orders. No idea when or if that will change.

Rodger,
I gotta ask, what brand and style of seat is that on the 1200? Looks really comfy & I'm close to being in the market for either a reupholstery or a new seat.

Thanks

full Vetter dress 1979 GL1000 - "Barge" (currently down)
1986 1200 Aspencade - "Heart of Gold" - daily rider
1990 1500 Aspencade - It's ALIVE! but very, very naked. not in a good way.
1978 for $100 - project in worx
1978 from a previous member here - taking up space
my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)
