Rod, sure, any info helps, and I plan to expand the article as I get various information, just like a wikiepedia article.

As for powdercoating, powercoating a wheel will have no adverse effect. Remember these wheels are cast at temps of over 1000 degrees.

Sunny..There are 2 different versions of the Comstars between '78-'79.. I dont have pics,but they are different in the spoke design.'78 and '79 had different wheels. If someone has pics??

what about wheels that work from other models? cx500t, magna etc

maybe under 'custom'?

you can go spokes from a comstar hub, take your pick what size rim

Alwing is right again.
Here is a 78 Comstar. The one you have there SunnBobb is a 79. The cosmetic difference is the slots in the metal spokes. I believe there was a problem in 78 (with the rivets?) so they were revised for 79. Both the fronts are rears were changed.
