timing belts

Post by jodysue@verizon.net »

If your thinking about doing a timing belt change, go to NAPA and get Gates #250274. This job is not for the faint of heart. I did it with minimum knowledge of timing belts. Had one break and it cost me almost $400.00 to have fixed. Please change your belts or your screwed. Took all of two hours and a few bad words. Ride safe, Jody

about how much are those gates compared to Honda parts?
The Dodge works fine, but I rode my bike to work in the rain anyway.

I get them for roughly half what the Dealer asks. Honda belts are like 60-65 each and Napa Belts are 29 and change each.

To begin with many thanks to octane. You deserve your props. I followed the instructions and everything worked like a champ. I also want to thank Cascade Cycle for his prompt delivery and the new2u kit was perfect.
