Naked 1200???

#1

Post by Olafski »

Hi there,

As a former owner of a GL1000 I'm surprised by the pictures of naked GL1200's. GL1200 standard or LTD, I believe the're called. Are these bikes Honda originals, or are these machines customised by simply ripping of the fairing and suitcases? I'm really interested in buying a naked GL1200, but I can't find them here in the Netherlands. I just sold my regular GL1200 because I didn't like all the plastic. Now I own a CB1000 Big One, but I'm eager to switch to a naked Goldwing.

Grtz,
Olaf

Hi and welcome to our message boards Olafski

These bikes are Honda Originals, the fact that the GL1200 Standard [last naked Goldwing] was only made in 1984 makes them rather thin on the ground, and worth a little bit more to anyone looking for one. I'll think you can find one in Netherlands too. May I can help you Olafski, check your PM

Here is my GL1200 Standard

Yes they are, and we have high taxes for all vehicles too.

And we can't customize our bikes to much rather.

If anyone is intersted I know of a Plain Jane 1200 for sale in teh UK. If anyone is intersted let me know and I will find out details. The bike is located in Merseyside in teh north west of England.

In Holland there is also not much customizing allowed, everything must be according rules.

Do you have beside the normal taxes also BPM (thats a special tax for vehicles, cars and bikes) from a value of about 10% from the value of the vehicle?

We can better buy our cars and bikes in Germany, unfortunately when you import it, you have to pat the taxes anyway... :(

As an example: If I buy a GL1200 in Netherlands, I have to pay
EUR 6000 for the bike, + tax EUR 2500 = EUR 8500 = US $11.100
