Very good trip report and I would say probably 98% accurate. I couldn't help but notice a tendency to catch Ike sleeping sitting up and not so much the others so I offer this compilation of the author. - Ike

Rexsname wrote:I have a question reguarding the Ortlieb panniers that were mounted on the dark colored 'wing........Did he have any mounting issues with those bags or did they work out alright without saddlebag mounts? In other words, were they the type that just "Throw over" the back seat?
I also offer my thanks for writing this trip report. I very much enjoyed it!

Actually I did have Hepco Becker side bag mounts or racks. The HB bags I bought did not fit so I ordered these as a backup just in case. More "last minute" preparation. They worked quite well. Not sure how they would work with no racks though.

Touché. I forgot to mention that part of the challenge was to grow a full beard - and let it go wild. 3 of the riders manned up and rose to the challenge at least....
