Rear brake line 79

#1

Post by leggman »

I am missing the metal line that runs from the rear master to the rubber line. I took the rear master to autozone to try to get fittings to make my own but nothing fit???
Is this a weird size or should I just replace the line?
Thanks... Dave

OK, I went down to the garage and dug through some boxes of bike parts and I found the metal line in question. Awesome. Then I got a good look at the rubber line and it is shot. Too many years of dry rot and cracking.
Back to the dealers I guess.
Thank you all.

you could find a brake line mfg. send the old line and have a new one made.
Or find someone local and do that

I did - sent one off had a new s.steel one made.
1978GL1000 naked - kinda sadly gone. no bike at the moment.

Randakk lists a couple of numbers available from NAPA that will work if you can shorten the steel line a couple of inches. That's what I did on my '78.
