Wiring dominator headlights

#1

Post by Wangthang »

I am trying to wire up a twin dominator headlight. Each light has a three wire plug, and one single wire. I am guessing the three wire plug is for the high, low beam, and the single wire is a running light whatever that is. tried searching it but I'm still at a loss. Does anyone know how they hook up?

I am not familiar with them so am guessing that the black is ground, yellow or white will be high or low . and the single would be a reduced brightness as a daytime running light for places that do not require the headlight be on at all times. Or possibly as a parking light and could be connected to the brown tail lamp circuit.

I got bored this morning waiting for work, and tested the connections...lol. You are correct, the single headlight wire is a really dim parking light. Light is light though. Don't know if it would be worth it to hook it to the brights or not.

I wouldn't do that, just tie it off if you don't want to use it and insulate the exposed end. As I recall, it's as mentioned....used as a daytime running light in place of a fully lit headlight. Certainly easier on the charging system when you don't need the full brightness of the main headlight during the day.

Every thing keeps coming back to the charging system. So that being said, is the automobile alternator a good conversion?
