I remember that moment. But the Goldwing technology is so good, it took me a few minutes to realize it

Most of the suggestions here don't account for the professional thieves who don't care about steering locks, disc locks or alarms. They cut the ground wire and 2 guys pick the thing up and put it in a truck.
I've wanted a good anti-theft device too. I reckon best of all is lojack. But it costs.....forever.

Bottom line when dealing with "pros", if they want it, it's gone.

And there's really not much you can do.

Worst is on trips leaving the bike in a motel parking lot. We were on a day ride one time and stopped at McDonald's for a coffee. Another chap on a bike went in to get a burger or something. When he came out, 2 helmets had been ripped off from his bike.
What I'd like is an alarm that alerts me but not the person with the surname of Snow who's trying to steal my stuff. Then I could confront him with my sternest, angriest face. Cyborg could come out with guns a-blazing

When Gord and I had our problem, on our trip south last year, they just took the oil filler caps, and cut a few wires, including one of my spark plug wires. They were parked at the front door, almost in the lobby, of a very nice motel A lot of lights and everything. Took the advice of the hotel clerk. No alarm would have solved that situation. No lock,....no chain,.....well, maybe an armed guard , with an AK-47

I bought one of these to put in my fathers "summer home" which is my Grandparents house.
It is a 3 hour drive from here and is in a small village along the eastern shore. Very remote.
The camera will immediately text me that it has take a picture and uploads it to my phone.
I can check the status of the batteries, signal, sd card and the best part..it comes with a free data pkg that gives me 100 pictures a month uploaded.
Compact enough to take anywhere and as long as you have any type of cell phone signal it will connect to your phone.
