I don't care for that super- wide tire craze...but the chain and jackshaft is interesting.

That is a nice looking Valk. I agree about the fat tires. I was riding behind a extended fork chopper. It has a 300 wide tire. When it cornered, it looked like the bike raised up when it cornered and the tire ran up on the sidewall.

looks like they did somethink funky with the carbs, too.
didn't the Valks come with six?
sorta bulldogged custom 1978 GL1000 - "geekster"
full Vetter dress 1979 GL1000 - "Barge" (currently down)
1986 1200 Aspencade - "Heart of Gold" - daily rider
1990 1500 Aspencade - It's ALIVE! but very, very naked. not in a good way.
1978 for $100 - project in worx
1978 from a previous member here - taking up space
my original '79 bought in '91 - replacing engine (eventually, maybe someday)

I've seen somewhat similar setups on purpose-built mini 'pulling' tractors running sb Chevy engines...

Depend's on the chain they are using. I put 200HP through a chain on the one drag bike. A Pro Stock bike makes 400HP (or more depending on who you talk to) using a chain. There are other much more powerful bikes using chain drive. These are all at the track where traction is VERY GOOD. On the street the tire will slip before I would worry about the chain. ;)
