Updates since Sunday?! lets see:
wiring harness - installed
rear fender - check
rear tail light and turn signals - check (cheated a little. the led turn signals are on the side panels)
installed the battery
installed multi-meter digital gauge (Still need to hook up the speed sensor, rpm sensor and temp sensor, need to program the new tire size)
all hand controls are functioning properly (switches and buttons)
horns work (wooo) dancr
engine turned for a split second (run switch turned to off) so starter & solenoid still works fine.

the bad:
the caliper rebuild kit i ordered came with the wrong o-ring sizes. sent them back and ordered a different brand. (waiting) :drunk
the old front braided brake lines i had are too short. had to order new longer ones. (waiting) :drunk (FYI, i eliminated the linked front and rear brakes)
looks like i lost the HD Sportster fairing mounts i had (Garage Gremlin again! :flamer ). So I'm going completely bobber style front with just a chrome headlight bucket again. (I Hate shoving all the wires in there)

I'll send more pictures soon..
still haven't added oil or coolant.. I'll record the first start up. Might be this weekend. Stay Tuned type1 . Smash that subscribe button... oh wait... anim-cheers1

WELL! I YANKED THAT OUT!! I want to link the 2 front calipers together (the way god intended! j/k)
ok ok ok ok ohhh kayy.. Panic Gone. Apply logic.
If the front left and right caliper pistons are different sizes, and they are linked on the same front master, they would have REALLY CLOSE to the same stopping power..
What is the worst case scenario? after years of use the stress of the stronger left caliper would maybe warp the rotor or tear the rotor off the bolts!? I'm thinking the WORST case scenario right? under normal use it might wear those pads faster?
Best case scenario, IT DOESN'T MATTER and it has almost exact equal stopping power and I should just finish the rebuild, re-install and move on with my life?

Pros? Thoughts, opinions, safety first.

I have Randakk's Nissin Front Master and a double banjo bolt off it with steel braided lines. I should have taken a picture of that. Not like it makes a difference, the pressure is applied evenly is my point.

Just some more pics of the brakes.
I’m going to sand the word Honda again like the example. I just wanted a fresh coat of paint first.
I really like to do that where ever I can. That little badge really stands out like that. On the calipers, on the valve covers, on the front forks... and not TOO MUCH or HUGE VINYL... that’s tacky!

A shameless pun.

And in these hard times, a pic of me, my niece and my dog! To make you guys smile. anim-cheers1

Today I buttoned up a LOT.
I was able to take it for a test ride around the block. (Rear brake only and its a small block)
Installed the front calipers and brake lines.
connected the fan (forgot that and its a PAIN to reach that connector now FYI)
installed front fork cross over air hose and filled them up.
installed left side exhaust and new crush washers. (i installed right side a few days ago)
zip tied everything down
installed a cig lighter accessory under the false shelter (drilled a hole in the side of the removable glove box / tool box)
installed the shelter
installed the seat

Tomorrow I'm going to swap the rear tire and the rear gear fluid.
Can someone tell me the trick to Bleeding the Nissin Front Master Cylinder from DRY? Its not sucking down ANY fluid at all.
Stock rebuilt Honda Rear master cylinder was fine from dry tub full of air. This!!

Often you will find that master cylinders need to be "primed" to start. Disconnect the banjo, pump with your thumb over the outlet, and once fluid comes out hook it up quick. Then you can vacuum bleed (fastest) or normal bleed the system.

The Banjo at the bottom by one of the calipers or at the top by the master?

All Done!!
My front master brake bleeding problem was stupid. I had the wrong size washers in between the banjo fittings on the banjo bolt at the Front Master Cylinder.

Took it out for an hour tonight. Got it up to 85 on the high way for a mile but 90% of the ride was back roads. Testing the brakes, shocks and over all ride was more important than speed. Its going to need a set of clutch plates in the near future. It slips out of 3rd gear when you hit it REALLY hard. Other than that, SHE'S A RIPPER!

I'll take some glamor shots before the new owner comes to pick it up on Saturday. But here are 2 shots I got at the gas station tonight.

So let's go over what just happened in like 3 weeks. I bought a used '83 Goldwing (looked like a standard but had some indications of once being an interstate). Rode it home 120 miles. Tore it down to the frame (left the engine and gas tank). Then started to clean, paint and rebuild everything back up again for a customer as a fathers day present for his Dad this Saturday! No charge for labor. He is just buying the bike from me.

What was done:
Its got plenty of power (and I mean plenty) with the K&N air filter and straight pipes
Also new Dyna Coils
Carbs prob could use a professional clean and sync but they are fine for now.
Fresh oil &filter
New fuel lines and fuel filter
Powder coated valve covers and timing belt covers
Cleaned, painted radiator and fresh coolant
Progressive 412 rear shocks
Filled the front shocks (And they seem to hold air fine)
Used my old shelter (had previously been epoxy'd together as a single piece and painted)
body work was also done on my side panels with LED turn signals on them
used my old custom rear fender with LED brake light and license plate holder
used my old front fender which was chopped and painted previously
new foot pegs
new rubber shifter thingy
my old rear brake pedal (cleaned and greased)
used my Koso North America Digital Multi Gauge (speedometer, tach, fuel, temp, turn sig, neutral, high beems, everything basically)
used my chrome headlight bucket and 7" headlight
front LED turn signals
polished the front forks
wire brushed and painted every bracket you can think of
removed, cleaned the entire wire harness, reinstalled and dielectric greased all the connections.
added accessory port in the tool box for USB charger
New LED light kit makes the bike very visible at night
I put my '80 comstar wheels and tires on this '83. I like the look of the 5 spoke rims! And the tires were like new.
also my comstars had new wheel bearings
I greased all the rear gears with new moly paste
Rebuilt the calipers all around.
Took out the '83 hybrid / mixed front / rear brake system and installed all new braided brake lines so it stops on a dime.

I think that sums it up. I Hope you guys enjoyed following along on this rebuild.
If you want to see anything specific, let me know. I'll take pictures and I'm staying friends with the new owner on FB. Hopefully this will stay in shape for many more years to come.
