Re: Wog's '78 Wild Child build
Planning on powering the chargers via belts from each side belt pulley.
Will make up somewhat "safe" covers for them.
If too much strain, change to running both from the center drive??

“ Keeping it just a fun build ” Ahh……yeah!
AMR also made a 300. 500’s should work with the right pulleys.

Whatever I suggest here should be given ample time for a moderator to delicately correct. I apologize in advance.

Re: Wog's '78 Wild Child build
Got a lot done on the top "manifold".
Just need to weld the end covers on and make the other side.
Also on the bottom, I'll add tabs for the other two mounting holes. Coulda got a little wider tubing, but I had this and I guess it's good to keep it as small as possible.
The pump rod hits the top and I was thinking I'd make a groove in the top center for space, but came up with just making 1/4" spacers for the clearance. Pics don't show it but the holes line up correctly...

Eric, I ordered close to the same diameter pulleys for the drive that came on the charger. What's your thoughts?

could you run a single serpentine belt off the crank pully with 2 belt tensioners incorporated on either side of the crank pully?

Re: Wog's '78 Wild Child build
I'd be more inclined to do something like this. It's been said there's too much play in the cam timing to begin with; adding a blower to the mix might be a nightmare...

I had this lined up for the adv bike, but think I'll re-purpose it for this one.

recommend removing the fork springs and check clearance to that Rad with the forks completely compressed. Couple of my Mods have run out of space in that area.

Re: Wog's '78 Wild Child build
For now, I'm planning on staying with a V-belt drive. May change to a serpentine later.
Received the drive pulley and cut off the extra thickness...
Looks like there's enough clearance to not have to replace the rad.
Also go with a cheap thin fan...

It was worth a try.

Re: Wog's '78 Wild Child build
I played around with different style lower manifold ideas.
Started to bend the 1-1/2" tubing thinking I'd follow the last style but don't think I can get the tight radius's needed. Don't like the look of many welded sections. Then thought about silicone radiator hose. Could be easily contoured to what I need but no rigidity.
So this is the plan (for now)... Not sure about the internal adjustable damper but I think that might help getting more of an even amount to the rear intake.
...EDIT... better update my extremely detailed drawing so I don't weld the mounting wrong
