Finally got the old gal back on the road. It's been several years.
Got the polished covers on in place of the old bead-blasted ones.
Still need to do a few touch ups and re-route the clutch cable(s). I installed a new spare with the old one just in case.
Also have a correct color tach to swap out with the cracked face one.
Little things, but she ran great today. Hard to believe she's 47 years old

None - I do need a winter project before the snow flies (I'm eyeballing a 1978 GL; I may take on the sad 1980 GL behind the house; or there's the '76 CB in the corner)
Great, and polished covers are really no more bother to maintain that other finishes.

Cool to have two candy blues inducted in the same year.
Thought I had another color correct '75 tach but can find it
But did find one on Ebay today.
It's always hard to find the correct match. I'll get a better picture, but for now...
For some reason I can't attach the pic.

Guess my computer is too old to upload pics from the hard drive, but I found using dropbox works...
Most Ebay listings for the gauges just say '75-'77. The 77's are easier to spot because of the blue color. But the earlier years are another story. Here's the differences I've found along with pictures. Hope this helps someone looking for the correct year.
1975
Blue/green color
0-5-10 mph larger space between the marks/lines
70 mph mark is wider than the others and more of a yellow color
No 0 (zero) on the tach
No other real differences between the 75 and 76 tachs other than color

1976
Green color
0-5-10 mph small space between the marks/lines
70 mph mark is same as other marks
No 0 (zero) on the tach
