Yes, under the seat now is a 1/2 gallon air tank, compressor, C5 ignition and some other goodies.dontwantapickle wrote:did you remove the original gas tank?83Interstate wrote: Looking into other gas tank options. You might get better response starting a build thread or asking questions in the tech section.83Interstate wrote:My 83 gl1100 that went into surgery last January. An intro thread would be good too.

I did an intro and wish I had documented more of my work I have done. It's about done now. Well done for now. My next build I will definitely do a build thread. Thanks for the advice.robin1731 wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 10:05 pmYou might get better response starting a build thread or asking questions in the tech section.83Interstate wrote:My 83 gl1100 that went into surgery last January. Re: Any Off the wall custom building being done to their GLs ???
Greetings! I am building a 1979 GL1000 rest- mod I guess.. Have 2010 ZX1400 forks, rim, brakes...I started awhile go but life got in the way but moving and gutting the new house gave me some time to think things through a bit. I'll be using the Randakk double webber fuel system. I haven't dived into that brain scrambler part yet but it's progressing. I was looking for a better suspension and brakes. Those carbs look bad -ss..so this is what I got so far.

I just acquired a well used 79 gl1000. I am going to go the cafe racer route with custom seat and bars and custom paint. its going to be a slow and steady project since I am getting old & slow nowdays.

I have most of a CC Products supercharger kit as well as several pieces of a Keith Wright kit I am installing on my 1976 GL1000. The bike has been stripped to the frame and slowly getting modified as time and resources allow.
