OK. Some of you will recognize that this new bike is the same color (frame, engine, bars, saddle, VIN, etc) as White Trash but this one is Despicable.
It starts right up and runs well. I think its missing a few horses from the Weber setup. Looks pretty cool though.
(The chrome globs on the headlight are the speakers. They had to move.)

Very cool and quite a modification. Looking forward to reports on it in the wind and corners etc. A very distinct profile. I liked your picture avatar with White Trash next to Brutus. It showed how much smaller the gl1000 really is.

I could cheat and put together a picture of them side by side. I cheated on that avatar picture too. I moved the 1000 back a bit to make it look smaller. Kind of a reverse Jimmy Houston thing.

I'm going to leave it like this for a bit. All the pieces are prototypes so I have to cross my fingers that it holds up. If it hasn't fallen apart by the middle of next week I'll ride it to the Gilmore like this.

I've gone through it before. Do you know the way I check jetting with a running bike? Nothing fancy but if you need it I'll go over it real quick. The trick with this set-up will be as you gain speed.

Same here. Remember, I did offer to have you bring it down and I'd help jet it. ;) Way back at the beginning.

The metering rods are shimmed by .040" and I'll leave them like that. I did the "off-idle" fix. It sync'd up fine. It runs well.

The only issues right now are that the choke pull is really stiff and I missed the fast idle cam profile by a bit. I have work-arounds for both.

There are a lot of pieces in that linkage and my concern is something coming loose. I'll have to bring tools with me for sure.

It's a lot quieter without all the intake noise but I miss the growl of the Webers.

That looks awesome! Sucks Gillmore totally snuck up on me this year. Been so busy with house business and work I made family plans for the day not realizing. Bones was built specifically for Gilmore and I'll have to wait another year! fly into a rage fly into a rage fly into a rage

I put about 75 miles on it Sunday. During the ride I noticed that it started dropping 1 and sometimes 2 cylinders at idle. Pulling away from a light was tough. Over about 3000rpm it continued to run fine. The idle had increased to near 2k too.
When I got home I checked the mix, sync, and tightened the connections. Seems to be back where it was. I'll take it for a putt today and see if it has improved. It sat with a bunch of seafoam in it for about two days. If there is no improvement I might pull the carbs again for a quick re-flush. Since it ran quite well for the first couple of days I'm thinking it's something simple.
