If your going to break them down completely and take them off the rack you will need these ORings. The float bowl formed gaskets are available off E bay sellers in a kit, or 4 into 1 an online seller.
I can send you them in the mail, as I have lots left from the DOHC carb sets I used to rebuild.
Send me a PM if you need them with your details.
Yes, the carbs are the VB44A. PM on it's way!

I spent a few hours giving Paula (Josh's girlfriend) a tutorial on changing the oil, filter, and spark plugs. Ran into a few p.o. issues, of course! The filter housing was missing the spring and washer. There's also a spacer that goes between the filter and the block, which I thought was missing, but it had fallen into the drain pan without me noticing. Good thing that was there, as we didn't really want to have to search for one. Also, two of the spark plugs were D6EA's rather than the recommended D8EA, and the gaps were all off.
We had hoped to do an engine flush with a really good warm up and another oil change, so I showed Paula how to hook up a remote fuel source and give it a go. The bike did start, and after a little nursing of the choke, seemed to idle fairly well. A quick 'pull each plug wire' test showed that cylinder #1 wasn't firing, so Paula learned how to do a quick troubleshoot for spark test today, as well (the spark for #1 was good).
We knew the carbs would have to be gone through, so the last task for the day was pulling the carbs, which went fairly well.

Just a couple of pics of the carb rack. They are 'cousins' to the 1100's carbs, sharing similar cap, slide, and needle design, as well as an accelerator pump. There's no air cutoff valves that I can see, which is fine with me! Saves the cost of having to replace them!
Truthfully, it's all I can do to keep myself from tearing into them, but Paula wants to give them a go! Yay!

I can't argue with that! At the moment she has more gumption to get things done than Josh... but that's another story, lol

Well, there's been an unanticipated and unfortunate turn of events in our household. Paula, Josh's girlfriend, handed me the title to this bike and informed me that she was leaving Josh, and had no use for the bike. On some level, I believe it became a point of contention between them (or at least became a focal point for deeper issues in their relationship). While she basically gave me the bike, I feel guilty about the entire situation, and I certainly don't need the added expense, time, and energy required for another project this late in the summer. I also know I don't want to leave it in its current condition for long. The carbs are disassembled on the workbench, the fuel tank needs to be de-rusted, but I'm getting so close on the Layla project that it's just a big distraction ATM.

It's just taking a snooze for the winter, as I really needed to concentrate on the 'Layla' project (which is now also snoozing...). I have the carbs disassembled and mostly ready to put back together. I haven't decided what direction I'm actually going with it yet, except to get it running decent. My problem is I've got too many bikes I want to build...
