When I buy another motorcycle instead of groceries, then I might have too many...

At present have bigger fish to fry.
I'm not like our esteemed members that work hard and quickly on their projects that are sure to be admired. I'm new to this MC thing, slow and methodical al though I've screwed up quite a few times. But I like tinkering only with purpose. I fix a lot of stuff as the decay runs rapid around me. It's easy to replace anything that's on the fritz but no fun if you cannot repair and move on. A lot of times I "fix" and fail and then end up buying the replacement part to fix. But I'm duty bound to try and handle the fault myself saying nothing ventured nothing gained.

So yes put me down on the list for another go at a project. Refurbishing a box, bins and baskets of parts back into a 77 Gl1000 was and is one of my greatest achievements plus the tank of course.

I currently have 25 bikes in the stable. Have been collecting old bikes for about 30 years. Been riding about 50 years now and probably have owned over 100 bikes.
When my wife asks about how many bikes I have, I tell her about 15-20, not sure. I stay on her good side by never spending any "family" money on the bikes. Have bought , sold , traded, parted , etc . for many years, and have always keep the good keepers. The mrs. doesn't quite understand.
I have 20 bikes that could run within a few days, 10 that I ride , and 5 that I ride regularly. Those five are a 74 CB750, a 85V65 Sabre, a 2001 Valk Interstate, a 75 GL1000, and a CTX1300.
The best of my small collection is a low mile 79CBX and a 69 sandcast Cb750.
Retiring in the near future and will be downsizing and would like to get down to 6-8 bikes.
The right number is different for everybody. Taxes, insurance , repair costs, space, and most importantly for a lot of us, better half tolerance.

How many bikes are too many?

Oh yeah and my point was, yes there is always room for more. I'm sure I'll reach a point that I may not be able to insure them all at once. But I have not reached that point yet. Time will tell.
I'm sure one of my buddies here will set me straight if I'm full of it or just dreaming...both? Lol

I have seven and have two limiting factors: 1) Storage space; 2) Not enough time to ride them all and I don't want them just sitting around.

hello everyone, I'm Paola from Italy, my husband and I have several motorcycles that are all used very often, with an average of 3500 km per year per motorcycle
I use Kawasaki 250 samurai (1970) Kawasaki 350 S2 (1971) we both use Honda Gl 1000 yellow (1976) Gl 1000 LTD (1976) and he uses Kawasaki H1 (1970) H1A (1971) H1B (1972) H1D (1973) Honda GL 1200 (1983) and Honda CBX 1000 (1978) we also had several air-cooled Yamaha Rd and the whole series of turbocharged bikes. Honda CX 500 and 650, Kawasaki GPZ 750 Turbo, Yamaha XJ 650 Turbo and Suzuki XN85 Turbo.

Ah...the eternal question....how many bikes to own. Luckily for you and the other members of this forum there is an actual mathematical formula to determine the correct number for each of us.

N+1=B

Where N is the number of motorcycles currently owned and B is the ideal number of bikes.

This formula is flawed. It implies that only one more is ideal. Not sure I I can sign up for that.

It does say how many you own + one more, so to me, that says it is almost infinite!
