I'm not ready to go away just yet. I have one thing I want to fix before I take the bike to VMD to try to sell this weekend: the horn. I got the assembly apart. Of course I could not get the phillips screw out to look at the horn switch. Anyway, I only see one wire going to the switch. What gives? The diagram shows two wires. Help! (and who was it that reorganized the forum section? Is my wife somehow up to this? Just when I get comfortable with things and know where to find them, they change!) Did I mention I hate change?

Never mind. I checked the Honda manual and it correctly shows one wire which closes the ground circuit when depressed. (thanks a lot clymer) I hit the switch with brake cleaner and wd40, depressed the switch about 20 times, cussed a few times and PRESTO! The horn is now working. On to VMD on Saturday.

And so an end comes to the saga of Melloyellow. I proclaimed her finished (are they ever really finished?) July 4th. I had her for sale on Cl, ebay and locally, but no takers. I decided to take her to Vintage Motorcycle Days in Mansfield Ohio. She was set up and spit shined by about ten am. At about noon, Oldewing set the hook and I reeled him in. A real nice guy named Ryan from Lansing Michigan. Hopefully he will become a new NGW member.

I would like to say, it has been a blast! I learned a lot about these wonderful machines, gained some new friends along the way and learned a thing or two about myself. I'm not sure when this will happen again, but until then thanks to all that have been a part of me and Melloyellow.

Well don't be a stranger. Anybody that can put up with any of us in person for even a day can still hang around here. ;)

Congrats to both of you.

He sure looks like a kid in a candy store. :-)

You couldn't ask for a better outcome.

Just finished a read of the entire 17 pages. Awesome! You are a man of the old stick-to-it-tiveness.
Bravo and Bravo again.

I just wanted to post a follow-up to this thread. I was at the Gilmore bike show yesterday and I ran in to the guy that bought this bike. The bike ran great for the last year, but he got the itch for something else. He said he sold it last month and it is on its way to FRANCE! Go figure. It sure would be cool if the new owner found this site! Keep your eyes open Hal!
