I believe the contrast of modern frame, tank and tail etc, And the vintage round headlight
works well, I never liked the square headlights and the modern odd shaped led headlight
types just don't do it for me. but then all my taste is in my mouth.

I agree....headlight could use some re-think

I totally disagree this time
I totally am digging the simplicitiy of the curved lines in the front.
The light is so NOT distracting the attention away from the upper tripletree.
maybe my photographing qualities don't add much good to it... but each time when I walk in the garage I keep falling in love on its front now

hihi
but I have to admit the headlight is a strugle on the pictures.... it seems to be not a part of the bike... but in real live it really seems to be adding just enough...
I know it sounds weird, but I decided to make some other pictures to proof that I am right.... but I cant seem te make a picture were it looks the same way as in reality...
how silly is that

It does look good from the front. But looks to much like a chopper headlight from the side. That is where the clash is for me.

I wonder if the fact the frame has a satin finish and the head light bucket is shiny is drawing everyone's attention to it..

I think the point made about the finish on the headlight is a very good one, robin1731 has a point about chopper styles and 5speed has it about the stand-out shiny finish.
Here's my 2 cents worth...The type of light suits the bike very well, I would move on and finish a few more parts, deciding on the overall paint colors, frame and wheel finishes will help nail how that headlight needs to look. I find that as the "face" of the bike headlights are key to its overall finish... and I'm a twin headlight kinda guy anyway!
Looking good though, I love it!
cheers

gave my wife a DSLR camera for her birthday and I think I finally managed to take a proper picture to show why I'm happy with this headlight

didn't spend a lot of time in the garage last week, but wednesday I made a coverplate for the K&N air filter.
