I would really dig it if you were to keep track of each part and where it's source is for that front end conversion! That looks very good! Also, have you built the linkage for the carbs? I would like to see pics of that, as I am setting Meddle up with the twin Webers as well...

You bet, I'll keep track as best I can.
Most everything is available right from McMaster Carr, only one bearing is an odd ball thus far, but I think I'll make a change that will fix that.
There'll be some custom parts though, an adapter for the brake rotors and custom axle spacers. If you have a lathe you can make spacers, and I'll have my laser guy cut out the other parts, so you could have those files if you like the end result.
First, I have to see if this whole front end thing will even work out though.
I've been working on linking the carbs, not together yet. Making a set of brackets to link them together with heims.
I'll post pics as soon as I have anything to show in case it will help with your project.

Here is an idea that might work for your battery. Also, Oil tanks come up on jockeyjournal.com all the time.

What build is that battery box from? I've seen that pic before, can't remember where though.
Took a look at the Randak carb linkage stuff you mentioned, looks great. That is the way I was originally going, but now I am doing something modeled a bit more after the way they do the VW dual links.
Along these lines:
The parts are in this pile somewhere:
Also decided to just go with what I wanted for the rear suspension, originally intended to do this down the line, but figured, why not.
Changes the look even more:
And since my theory here is to remove everything I possibly can, and I'm running an electric fuel pump, I sliced off these few extra ounces:

I've seen that too. It may have been on caferacer dot net.

The battery box was from...

I was thinking the same thing for linkage, looks like I could have an example to follow!!

The Bopper's linkage is in my gallery,a combo of stock and aftermarket pieces. Pretty easy to build and worked very well.

Well, made a bit more progress.
Carb links are mocked up, but I don't like them.
The big thing with these carbs is that they are basically for cars, you get a lot more travel from a cable attached to your foot that you do with one attached to your wrist (gas pedal versus twist grip).
So the challenge is to turn a little bit of movement into more movement, I did that here by actuating the links on the carbs from a cam, I gave it a shot based on where the little flange bearing mounted up SO nicely.
But it is too much, the throttle would be very sensitive like this, so there are a bunch of adjustments I could make as far as things getting shorter and longer, just need to figure out what I want to change.
The other thing is that with the cams, the feedback from the carbs get multiplied and I think it makes a for a pretty heavy feel as is.
I still like this approach though. More fiddling this weekend maybe.

This swap really would not be much of a problem if I didn't mind lowering the ride height a bit, and that seems to be the case with all the swaps of this kind that I've seen.
However, I actually want to raise the overall ride height as much as the driveline angle will allow in order to increase cornering clearance, the geometry will stay almost the same but would like to have the option of taking out a little bit of rake if I feel like it.
So the issue is that the modern fork tubes are too short, if you lower the bike, problem solved.
This is why I picked up the CBR front end since the top cap is dropped a bit, but the fork tubes are shorter as well and the GSXR tube wont swap in, and I like the GSXR build better anyway.
After exploring a bunch of options I decided that what I liked best was the option of making a new top bearing race, I'll cut the head tube down, the new race will press into the tube and get welded in place and I can keep the top cap as low as possible.
While I was on the lathe I made the new front bearing and wheel spacers as well, was actually able to cut these out of the factory GSXR bearing spacer:
