ditto, I have tried painting brake parts with poor results. Also, the MC seemed to be "coated" or anodized, and paint does not want to stick to them at all

This may have been already asked in some other threads, but that Ivory powder coat is killer. What is the actual product's name & color designation? Also, if you're doing a matching color spray paint job (side covers, etc.) who sells and what is that color?

Thanks, even my wife likes it and she's not at all happy I bought a motorcycle to fix up.
The ivory is just the standard RAL ivory color. I didn't pick anything special. I did find that the Dupli-color Santa Fe Tan is pretty much a dead on match. That's whai I used on the rear turn signals.

The fender and tail light housing are powder coated the turn signal and arm are Dupli-Color.

At least in this photo, the RAL Ivory Powder looks more ivory. But a nice blend nevertheless. Sure is looking sweet.

The flourescent lights in the shop really screw up the colors. In person it's a really close match.

I took your (and several others) advice and decided to have the calipers powder coated. I am going to go with a textured black/copper vein on the calipers and on the wings for the radiator. I will be a couple of weeks before I get them back and can post pics. I think it's going to look great!

Gotta agree that any indoor pictures are limited in hue. So looking forward to your first sunlight pictures.

While I'm waiting for my brakes to get done at the powdercoater I figured it's time to get serious about painting the engine. I have it stripped to the bare metal, ready for primer and paint. Hopefully the humidity will be down tomerrow and I can get a coat on it.


I also got my exhaust from Thunderchild. A really nice Jardine downturn. I just had to bolt them on to see what it would look like. I love it!

I got the engine painted today! Lots of prep but so far it looks like it turned out OK. I used the Dupli-Color 1612 Engine primer and the 1615 silver.

Wow, she sure is beautiful. Better be careful getting the frame back over her. But touch ups are no big deal.

For your first bike, you are doing a fantastic job. Can't wait to see it on the road, I am sure it will be a head turner.

Man I sure like the way that seat flows with the lines of what I've always before considered the ugly hump in the tank. I can't wait to see this come together. The beauity is in it's simplicity and attention to detail. Awesome job!

I second the medium brown wheel idea. Other options abound, but brown is worthy of consideration.

I thought of getting the wheels powdercoated but was worried that the sandblast and heat might warp them. I do agree that a nice brown to match the color of the side covers on the spoke parts and leave the rim silver would look pretty cool. I still have to nail down exactly what color brown the covers are going to be yet. The brakes should be done this weekend and that will help narrow the color selection down.
