Yeah. I always used 10W30 or 10W40 in the past but since so many on the forums spoke so highly of Rotella T and I discovered a good local source of it for a good price (TSC Stores) I changed last year. I didn't expect 15W to be that much thicker than 10W so I blamed the starter clutch problems last year on old age, exacerbated by the other problems that engine had and figured it was solved by the "new" engine with brand new springs, caps & rollers in the starter clutch.
I have contemplated synthetic oil before but the old engine used 200-300 ml of oil every fill up (approx. 220 Km) so that would have become pretty expensive pretty fast. The new engine hardly uses any oil so it is worth experimenting now.

Sidecar bob. I stole this picture off the cx forum. You and Eccles are the real deal.
I enjoy your posts. I was wondering if you ever drive your cars?

Cars? Aren't they for people who don't have the skills & co-ordination needed to operate a motorcycle?
Many years ago, when I had my first bike, a neighbour offered me a Beetle that I could have had on the road safe & legal for under $200 but when I called about insurance they quoted me 5 times as much for 6 months (winter) coverage as I was paying for 12 months on the bike. I worked with a fellow who came to work by bike every day, solo in nice weather and with a sidecar in winter so I asked how much it would cost to insure the bike with a sidecar added. "No increase, but please let us know if you get one." The rest, as they say, is history...
That pic was taken 12 April 2014 on Matt's driveway (Matt in sidecar) by Matt's neighbour Garry. (Matt lives in an old mansion that has been converted into apartments and the parking lot is right behind the house. The tenants have use of the huge back yard, almost like a private park.)
Here is a pic from 01 Jan 2012 in the same place (Kay in sidecar) taken by Matt.

It will be over soon. The days have been getting longer for a month now so it is only a matter of time now before the temperatures increase too.
Besides, we shouldn't complain too much - we are in Canada's Banana Belt, after all. I mean, we don't get the sort of cold they get in the north (or even the prairies) and we don't get the amount of snow they get in the maritimes. Well, it might seem like it in the lee of lake Erie but we don't here in central Ontario
BTW Mike: When are you going to come visit?

Sorry Mike/Bob, but we were at +17C in Calgary today, that's in the mid 60s in F. Tomorrow highs at +14C, just below 60F. We have been above freezing for over two weeks now. I took my new 76 out for a quick ride, it was very short, as the bike is not licensed, or insured yet, but at these temps I just could not resist. I did put the plate on from my other bike, which still has a valid tag, so at least I looked legitimate. However, Winter is forecast to come back by the end of the week.

Yeah. But I don't begrudge you some nice weather for a couple of weeks - you have had a lot more days below -20c than we have this winter. Heck, I don't think it has been colder than -25 here...

We're supposed to get up to 40 inches of snow (worst case) tonight and tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Several decades ago we had a minister from Florida visit the church we went to in Toronto. When someone asked him how he liked the cold & snowy weather we were having and he told us he came to Canada often enough that he was pretty used to it. But when he went outside to leave for the airport the morning before there was about a half inch of snow on the ground so he went back in to tell his teenage daughter. She was so excited to see snow in Florida that she ran down the street in her PJs & slippers to tell her friend. When he got to the freeway on ramp there was a trooper parked across it, blocking traffic so he pulled up to ask if there was anything he could help with. The trooper told him there were 10 accidents between that ramp and the next one so they weren't letting anyone on it. Not even a preacher who said he knew how to drive in the snow.
So he went the long way and a few hours later he arrived in Toronto, picked up his rental car and headed onto the 401 in a real snowstorm

S'Bobb;
I spent almost 2 years at Boeing / Everett back in 1997, rain and overcast from mid-October to mid-March, those of us from the sunny east found the lack of sunshine to be quite depressing.
