Yes, I did, thanks. For some reason I have a hard time finding stuff on Randakk's site. Must be the way I try to search...

They should be stamped with the number on the carb body, near where they attach to the plenum I think. The marks on the needles make me think they are the wrong ones for the carb.

So many projects, so little time... I've finally got the basement de-cluttered enough to start cluttering it up again! Hopefully between now and Sunday we'll be moving the '79 donor bike in so I can begin the 'good, better, best' process, as well as touch up the frame. Stash money is tight right now, so the brakes and carbs are on the shelf for the near future. Time to chip away at all the piddly stuff...

I noticed that you are planning on brush coating some of the frame. This stuff will grab on to and seal in tight rust like you will not believe. http://www.agriguardcoatings.com/

Just a few tips...

1. It dries by using moisture out of the air, so we are talking about serious fumes
2. There is an open period where you have to coat over the top with enamel in order for the enamel to bond to it
3. If you ignore the recoat time, the stuff dries so hard and glossy that it is difficult to scratch the surface enough to get the top coat to bond.
4. You have to topcoat it, although the dried product has very high gloss and hardness, the product is not U-V stable. They make a higher priced product in aluminum color that is U-V stable

I put this stuff on the underside of a [previously rusty] mower deck that I use on juicy pasture weeds, and the wet grass laying against it has no effect --for two years now. It has held up against the sand blasting effect of dirt and grass quite well. It is killer on battery trays and such things

Building a bridge... I think Josh is asking me if I'm going to plead temporary insanity, or if I've truly lost my wits... You might notice the moving dolly in the first two pics. In the third pic it is under the bike and strapped to it. The tires are just barely off the boards...

There's a lot more to it than you can see in the photos. The first problem I could foresee was controlling the downward motion of the bike. I picked up a boat trailer winch a while back at a garage sale for a buck, and it worked great.
The second problem was the transition from the top landing to the 2x6 boards that formed the ramp down the stairs. I made a 'see-saw' platform with a 2x4 foot piece of cabinet grade plywood and a 2x4 stud tacked crosswise in the middle. The moving dolly allowed us to center the bike on the platform, and the stud held the platform on the edge of the landing as we pivoted it forward and rolled it downward. Slow but sure!

The beer may have come later, lol.

I think going back up, we'll forgo installing the forks, wheels, etc. Hopefully I won't be needing to do this again. The plan for the summer calls for building a small (12' x 12') shop...
