Put new timing belts on the Red 84. I decided to install a new water pump while I'm in there and got a pump and install kit ordered.

Put in a new Wix oil filter and splashed a bit of fresh in her Rotella yesterday. Brushed off the cobwebs and it's ready for the monthly breakfast today. Probably going to get a bath while we're out but it should be a nice warm one. (Yeah, I need a ride that bad.

I finally got to ride today!!! Didn't go as planned. First the battery on the stock 77 decided it was time and keeled over. It's done. Charge it up, turn the headlight on and it falls to 6 volts. So I had my Schizoid bike on the table to do some other work, but I had to ride. Down it came. It's nice here today but supposed to be snowing tomorrow night. Ugh! First ride didn't go bad for me. I wondered about getting my leg up on the peg but, it wasn't bad. The bike however shook and didn't have the pep I remembered. So on the lift it went. I had messed around with cam timing last fall, and whatever I did, I was off one whole tooth on the right side. Got that fixed, checked my timing and went for a one hour jaunt. Feels good!!!

Nice trip even for one day, you have some great scenery there. Don't let any one tell you different. Where I live in the UK those who are born here (I wasn't) call this county "Gods Country" Yorkshire is a super place when you get out side the cities. But even the cities have something to offer. York is a walled city, you can walk the wall still well about 90% and old, man it goes back through the Viking Marauders time and further back to Roman times, I should think it even goes back to the bronze age. I just wiki'd it it goes back to 8000-7000BC.
I always wonders why the houses there look so old.

Respectfully.... while you're out getting the insurance and tag tomorrow, pick up and install a new pair of timing belts, too.
There are no specific guidelines for visually verifying the operational integrity of timing belts. Changing them, now, is inexpensive engine safety insurance.
