Thank you :)

I tried it today..both cables operating smoothly until I hook up the left/lower cable then binds. I'm leaving them routed like you guys suggested...I agree...seems to work a little better that way. When I fiddle with it again I'll play with the length adjuster...hopefully that will fix it...not sure what else I can do short of replacing them.

I got the throttle cables sorted out by adjusting the midcable lenghth adjuster....needs a little fine tuning..but its returning now.

Going to spend some time today trying to get the winker flash, horn and brake light issues squared away....chased wires yesterday while looking at the schematic..as far as I can tell..everything is wired correctly...not sure what the deal is

Are you trying to get the turn signals to work with the key on or the bike running? If just the key on they will probably not work. They draw enough juice that the battery alone will not usually be enough. Same with the horn. Brake light should work though.

The blinker may just the a voltage issue, like Robin said, as you have not run her much in a while. You need better than about 12.5 volts to get the blinkers to blink. That will resolve itself is my bet. The tach may just need usage too, as that too may be a lubricant distribution issue. Keep at her, really love the build.

Just the key on both... I got the horn working today I think it was a bad connection. Verified with a multimeter that the rear brake switch is working.

The turn signals wont flash or turn signal horn won't sound when the turn signal relay is connected. When I disconnect the relay the turn signal horn will sound...so I at least know its working.

I'm still confused on the brake light...I had 2 of the rear brake light wires hooked up incorrectly and I would at least get the tail light bulb on. When I hooked it up correctly....now my guage cluster indicates "tail"..and no tail light lit. I changed bulbs to be sure...still no change.

thanks for the tips :)

Ground wire? The housing is rubber mounted, so is isolated from the frame ground. I think I remember a ground wire attached to the back of the taillight housing.

Hrmm...I don't remember that being the case on mine regarding the tail light being grounded...the turn signals are grounded through the grab rail..which tie into the tail light ground through a splice. The turn signals are illuminating....I'll take a closer look...I do suspect its a grounding issue related to those wires..but I beleive they are hooked up correctly....really not sure.

Hrmm...now you have me thinking the grab bar might not be getting a good ground because I have it loosened up so I could get the seat off to look at the wires.

Thanks for the tips...I'll update the thread after I can look at it this evening.

How about the reserve lighting unit, it does something to the brake light also. My brake light was a sometimes normal, sometimes not working and by bypassing the reserve lighting unit all was resolved.

Thanks for the tip..that was exactly my problem. When I dissassembled the bike for the build the ground was actually attached to what I now know is the wire keeper...so not thinking about it...hooked up it up the same way it was before. Brake light problem solved...thanks again. anim-cheers1

I'll start it this afternoon...I need to drain a little oil before I start it again...
I hope thats the problem...I have a brand new fully charged batter...I'll update the thread tonight and let you guys know...thanks

started it again this evening...you guys were right (kindof) ...(I think)....when running...the winker started working along with the winker horn..but very slowly.....3-4 seconds apart....brand new fully charged battery...any thoughts?
