They say electronic ignitions are better for cold, but it was just above 30 this morning and it ran great. Could improve fuel economy though. Cost is about the only thing keeping me from switching from points. I only have about $1000 in the bike, including the purchase price. That and I like the mechanical things I can see and work on over black-box electronics.

Thanks! The front is just the stock gl1000 painted black. I think my front tire is one size over stock, which makes it fit snug. I did have to do a little body work as it was dented and creased when I got it. Part of the reason I didn't keep it chrome.

But this is the jist of what I did:

You can see my new front (in relation to the bike) mount hole is about 2 inches ahead of the stock rear hole.

New rear hole was made once the front could be mocked up. Reused bolts with aforementioned lock nuts and rubber bushings.
