I can confirm, there's a tang on the front of the seat that plugs into a hole in the frame, and the back is bolted into a slot. Loosen the bolts, slide it to where you want, then tighten it back down.

True, you only get about two inches of travel, but it's better than nothing.

So Yea You guys were right, the seat is adjustable! I pushed it back as far as it would go and moved the bars forward a bit and it s a whole different ride now. 200 miles today and I think this will work. I noticed that the mirrors are not the same angle. looking at the 2 perches it looks like they are different. I think the Front Brake M/C has been replaced. The clutch perch has the mirror post nearly vertical while the front M/C is not even close. A minor thing but makes me twitch some.

So today was a nice ride. I want to play with the bars some more and still may look at swapping them out. Also need to figure out a throttle lock and a windshield.

Still have one tappet that gets really noisy once in a while. I did a flush with a quart of MMO a couple weeks ago and ran that for 100 miles so I have to think it is not oil related. I guess I need to pull the Valve cover and see what I can find. Otherwise the engine is strong. Lots of torque and quite smooth. Now that i have some miles on it I need to check the plugs again.

I have seen one 1200 that had a lifter that "ticked" did the flush thing. No help. Guy would not put any money in it, so we sold it as it was...

I seem to remember mine ticked a bit too. It always ran fine, so I ignored it. Put a BUNCH of miles on that thing, too.

Mine ticks sometimes on start-up, but goes away. Could be a lifter not holding oil, or oil might be a little thick. I use 20-40. I might change to 10-30

This comes and goes and I can even hear it sometimes when rolling. it is that loud. Much of the time the engine is nice and quiet then this starts, last a few seconds then goes away usually with a power change. "Seems" to be most pronounced when the engine is in a no load condition. Other than the flush I have not investigated yet but it needs fixed before I go over the road on this thing.

325 miles on the new plugs and they look great. Have had it running in the shop for about an hour now and the valve noise is normal again. Need t o get it out on the road

I adjusted the bars forward a bit more and took it out for a couple hours. Not sure if I am getting used to it or the riding position is getting better, either way I am starting to become quite comfortable on her. Another hundred plus miles and this time the valve noise was not heard at all (air???). First legitimate fuel economy check resulted in 36.9 MPG running Non Eth Gas. That was mostly 60-80 mph stuff.

Another 200 plus miles today. No valve noise. Only thing I can figure is that one of the Hyd tappets had to have some air it it and it finally worked it's way out. It is a good running engine. Idles smooth and pulls hard. I have developed a minor oil leak from the front of the engine. Need to pull the Belt covers to inspect.

I looked at my GPS mount on the big bike and I think it will bolt right up to the clutch perch on this. Luckily I do have a spare power harness so that should be easy to work up. Time to start a serious search for a windshield. Really like the police style but so far the only applications I see are for HD.

Cam seals arrived today. Just a few minutes ago I got shipping on the Crank shaft seal. Coming from Omaha Ne. I don't know why but arrival is not expected until 4 - 5 June. That does not seem right, I think even pony express could do better. Probably would not have time to get to it before my Buffalo run next week anyway.
