Every year I end up taking my center stand apart to clean and lube it. This will end that I hope. First remove you center stand from bike. You will notice rusted pin inside of stand has it too.
Take stand and mark spots to drill you must do this on part of stand that faces muffler. If you do it on wrong side you will wipe out grease fitting's the first time you use stand.
Now set up drill with a 13/64 drill bit and drill 2 holes (I installed 2 fittings)
Next step take a 1/4-28 tap and tap threads in both holes.
Install fittings so they face outside of bike this makes it easy to lube. These are 1/4 fittings.
Next take the pin and clean it up. A wire wheel on grinder works great for this. When its clean take a marker and draw lines on it like a barber pole. Start in center and work way out.
Take pin to grinder and grind along marks not to deep. I do this to make grease flow better. (Old machinist trick) It stops whats called hydrulic action.
.
Now you are ready to put it back in bike. You might want to take the time to paint it so it looks pretty when you get it back on.
