Front brake master cylinder cover

#1

Post by 78wing »

Does anyone know of a chrome or aluminium cover for the brake master cylinder? Any ideas on how to improve the look of the master cylinder and brake/clutch handlebar assemblies? Can they be stripped and polished?

partsnmore.com has chrom as memory serves. You might need to look into the CB DOHC bikes, becuse I know it's in there. If you get stuff from there remember that you need $35 of stuff to make a purchase. That part should leave about $25 to the finish line.

Hey 78wing;
I used to run a Front brake resevor and the controls off of a 79 Honda 750, witch was an aftermarket chrome setup for dual rotors on my old 77 GL1000, they can be interchanged, most all Honda DualCaliper set pus Can, in fact Import Motorcycle run the 7/8 inch Bars so they are all mostly interchangeable, figure out the force of your brake presure and find ones that match your brake set up, Then pick the style and look your after.... Hope this helps....

Thanks for the advice - I will look for other Honda setups that would interchange. If nothing turns up I will try stipping and polishing them.

If you want a different MC you should be able to pull one off another Honda (and maybe some other makes) that uses the twin calipars up front. My understanding is that the single piston and double piston use the same amount of fluid to work, but the single and double calipar systems use different amounts of fluid.

The GL1200 MC's look pretty nice. They should also be on the magna ans saber of the day as well.

I had a 1200 front master cylinder on my '78 at one time. My 1200 had a changed front end and I was running both front brakes off the front master cylinder. Swapping the two worked okay with both bikes
