Headlight Ring GL1000

#1

Post by sunnbobb »

Since the only seller on ebay wants $325 for a headlight setup, I decided I had enough!

I spent an hour going through a motorcycle junk pile with an empty GL1000 headlight bucket.

So here it is: 1980 CX500 headlight ring fits perfectly. Maybe other years, but that was the only ring in the place.
I found the end of the internet

unless you are doing a resto, you can use any headlight assembly that fits between the ears. a pal of mine just put a headlight assy. from a honda v 65 magna onto his 1983 1100...looks like it was oem equipment...and with better chrome. the hell with the ring, change the whole thing.....T

I had the bucket & ordered the missing retaining rings from Frenchy.
It was an affordable option.
