I feel alot of GLers have this post WRONG . Its NOT about stock upkeep and rebuilding your GL to stock specs , but customg building and off the wall customizing to thier GLs . I do see the odd few are doing some custome work but majority is stock upkeep . If that is what it is here we'll change the title of this section to suit .

I have been told my sense of humour is "off the wall"

but yes, it seems like we are getting threads here about stock issues, not customizing

If others are like me  , they hit the 'posts since last visit' every time they visit.
You get all the new posts in one list and unless you look carefully, you don't see what section they are from. :-?

Our Mentor and good friend Zryder have some good points!
I hope and think our members will take note of your posting
and post "stock question" and "stock rebuilding" in "The Goldwing
Discussions" forum.

This will also give us better search possibilities....

I'm still planning a couple of good ideas here with this old 'wing of mine, one of them being a hinged tank for quick access to the air cleaner, cutting off a couple of frame tubes to get the tank lower, and basically trying to keep the bike as light as I possibly can.

I know, been gone for awhile. The girlfriend became the fiancee, so things have been a little hectic here to say the least. Of course, the one question she always asks is "When are you going to have your bike done? What else do you need to do to it?"
Give me two lanes and a good bike, and you can keep the rest.

Congrats!! Make sure you lay some ground rules!! Mine were "Never get between me and my Hunting and me and my Bikes" That was over 25 years ago and she still honors that discussion to this day.

Well she was looking at a couple of bikes, but for now she's just fine with riding on the back of mine. :-D Hopefully not too much more has to be done and my 'wing will be ready for inspection. Currently we're in the cutting and rerouting tubes stage to get the tank to fit right. I'll have some pics up soon of it, she's already fooling anyone who looks at her. By her I mean the Goldwing, of course.

I dunno, I think the future MRs.T is also fooling people, too..........What?? You're with HIM????? :P :P :P

Last night Ted and I were out in the garage working on his bike and friend who is a parts salesman at the local honda/big-four shop saw us out there and stoped. He was looking over Ted's bike, with the tank, seat and rear fender on it. Kept saying how sharp it looked, etc. Then he walked up to the front of it and stood there looking at it a second and then exclaimed, "That's a GoldWing engine!!!". He hadn't even recognized that it was a 'wing until he looked at the motor!

DOn't forget your Camera next time, kid.
A good bike mechanic only needs two tools, WD40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move, but should, use the WD40. If it does move but shouldn't use the duct tape.

Yeah yeah yeah, until my 'wing is finished it's one of your bikes or we cage it, since she won't ride on the interceptor. I'm not forgetting the camera next time either. This thing is going to be sweet when it's all said and done. 8)

I Got Into, Or Should I Say I Was Dragged Into A Conversation The Other Day By A Bunch Of BMW Guys, Like An Hour Had Passed Before I Realized They Were Refering To My Bike As One Of The Most Original And Striped Down BMW's They Had Ever Seen, I Kinda Looked At Them All With A Puzzeled Look On My Face And Asked Them All How Long They Had Been Riding, Noew Mind You I Was The Youngster Of This Group, One Said 15 Years Two Of Them 10 And One For 2, I Laughed And Then Appologysed, And Told Them They Still Had Never Seen An Original Striped Down BMW, They Asked Me Why And All I Said Was Look At The Name On The Bike,................... HONDA!!!!! With This They Got On There Bikes And Left (why?), I Didn't Even Get A Chance To Tell Them It Was A GOLDWING!!!!

Some Strange Ones Out There.....
