I know most FI builds have died on here but if you've been following you'll know I'm employed by the US government...and with the current shutdown I'm waiting until my paychecks resume before continuing the project. Until then I'll be working for free.

Please take your politics elsewhere. They do not belong on this (or any other) thread here.

Hey all! Been a while and hope everyone is doing well. I am gearing up for version 2.0 of the FITT build...this time with two turbos to fit the namesake.

The bike has been sitting for a couple years now and is mostly disassembled, but Im gearing up to put her back together better than ever. Ive since taught myself to TIG, so one of my main goals is a different shock setup.

Back in 2019 I started to work on it but the bike got pushed aside for other projects, but I did have some custom MLS head gaskets made by a company in Thailand. They came out GREAT and am looking forward to see how they hold up compared to the solid copper ones.

Looking forward to sharing as things progress, and getting caught up on the happenings around NGW.

I'm going to follow along. I'm in Houston. I sold the GLs a while back but I'm gearing up to add a turbo to a 1995 CB1000 instead. Your thread has been very useful to me. Thanks for posting over the years. I'd love to check the bike out sometime if you're still in the Humble area. I'm over in Magnolia now. Not many in my circle are willing to take on such a project.

Im still in the area, closer to Lake Houston now. Happy to help however I can. It’s going to progress a bit slower for “Version 2.0” compared to the first one, it’s not much to look at right now though. Just chopped off the back half and will be working on the seat tubes and suspension in the near term.

All in good time. I'm waiting on my Bosch 211 igniter to arrive so I can hook up the microsquirt to handle my ignition needs on my CB1000. Maybe I'll get that running this weekend and finalize my fuel setup.

Irishcarbomb, did you have problems with the copper gaskets?

Honestly I dont remember why I decided on getting the MLS gaskets made, it did run fine with the copper gaskets though.

Exomotive Exocet, basically remove the body from a miata and replace with a tubular frame...and of course it will get the turbo treatment as well. Should end up in the 250-300hp range and weigh about 1500lbs. Don't really enjoy riding anymore so this seemed like a good alternative.

what is to become of the wing once you are done with it? do you plan to sell it?

Not sure, a bit slow going this time. Havent made much progress besides cutting the frame for the center shock(s).

hiirlandesecarbomb, I have read all your posts (are they called that?) from the first to the last, I was speechless for the incredible work you did on the GL 1100, but are you a mechanic? an engineer? I can't find words for all that work and all the complications you've solved. good, good, good! I hope to read more of your works, even if my mechanical knowledge is poor and the translator is not always easy, I was fascinated by all that work.
