Hi all, have been lurking here for a bit, but now wanted to say Hi. My new to me bike is an '83 standard with about 50K miles (80K km). I've been intrigued with this bike model for several years, and finally decided to search one out. This bike was maintained quite well and kept in original condition and runs well. I am planning to do minor cosmetic changes like the paint, seat and replacing some of the older components (like the brake lines, hoses, tires, shield, handlebars, etc).
Later,
Chris...

Hi and welcome from the other side of the Pond.
Looks like a very good basis to start with. Best version of the 1100, so I hear, though personally i wouldn't like the linked brakes.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting your fine city. Spent a few days with another active member of NGW, who no doubt will chime in when he sees this. We were there for a bike show in Paris, which this year was celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Wing.
Nice country, nice people, great time!

Howdy Chris, welcome from Calgary. Nice looking bike! Always glad to have another Canuck onboard. Put the Timing Belts on your ToDo list, unless you got good proof they were done in the recent past, using brand name parts. Also have a look at the two T-Belts tension bearings.
Good Luck and Cheers,

Thank you all for the kind words of welcome and the invite to Grand Bend this coming weekend. I haven't shared a beer with you all, but already feel part of the GW family.
Unfortunately I can't make Grand Bend this weekend, as previously made family plans are being realized at this time. Also the bike currently is in a bit of disarray, as I'm doing some work on it. I may once is a while call on you guys to help and can be of assistance when needed.
Just ping me, I'm at N1T 1M2 or PM.
Later,
