Cell phone pics upside down?

A fairly new issue has shown up with IPhone pictures being sideways or upside down when posted to the board. Currently there is no fix. It Started with IOS6 and is now becoming more common with the newer phones.

When a IPhone takes a picture it is encoded with a EXIF Command that tells it what direction to orient itself for display. The problem is that standard web browsers have not caught up to this yet. We have scoured the PHPBB (our site's software) and they are aware of the issue but it is the phone manufacturers and the different browsers that need to get on the same page.

There is nothing we can do on this end. The different web browsers have constant updates to their programs and we just have to wait for them to recognize the issue then come out with a fix.

If you desire you can DL your pictures from your phone to a PC device and using a regular browser make your posts with the embedded pictures and that "should" work.

The staff here simply does not have the time to manually edit every post with a sideways picture.

Sorry but it looks like we are going to have to live with this one for a while. We are not alone with this issue.
