I just found what appears to be a decent find within a few hours drive of my home. It is a mothballed 1981 GL1100 Standard that has sat for 5 years in a dry garage with only 27K original klms. Here is a picture of the bike when it was parked and it comes with a quantity of new parts such as belts and a brand new battery. The current owner parked it 5 years ago and living in a rural area has been ATV riding. The bike needs some TLC and the typical work after a long lay up, so my winter project has arrived it appears.

Funny thing is I wasn't really looking for a Wing specifically and was just doing a search for a low priced bike for a project this winter. This popped up and has been for sale for 3 weeks with no takers, so I called and once I got the scoop on it from the owner I decided to buy it. It will come with a new starter/solenoid still in the box and a new battery not yet activated and a new set of timing belts, plus a variety of extra parts.
The fellow lost interest in riding 5 years ago and parked it before he got around to installing the new battery and belts. The new starter and solenoid are just backup parts he bought just in case.

I will update and progress in the restoration section once I get a better look at the bike when I get it home.
