Crank seal, GL1000 and GL1100:
Timken P/N 223542
National P/N 223542
Used as a : 1993 infinity J30 rear differential seal
The Timken is easier to install, as it is tapered so it self centers. The national is not tapered. The Timken is cheaper as well.
About 7$ at autozone/advanced auto/etc

does this list include suitable parts that require a slight mod?BIG T wrote:this sticky is to list tried and true cross over parts. like parts from other Hondas and other sources that will cross over to our gl bikes. even if it is a year crossover, you can list it here. I know that Frenchy and Randak probably have a partial list they themselves use. lets build this one....T

This is really a list of bolt on cross over parts. Like for car parts that are a direct fit. If it needs modifying to fit it isn't a crossover. It's usable. IMO

I agree with Robin. But, that one is worth saving so I've moved it to this Parts Reference forum.robin1731 wrote:This is really a list of bolt on cross over parts. Re: CROSS OVER PARTS LIST
i'm not familiar with the parts reference forum but suggest making it clear the rear m/c mod is untested for the 83 gl1100 linked setup, at least the way i'm reading the thread,
however, prob wouldn't be hard to find a closer matched m/c, as far as piston size goes, with the same mod
if required for the 83 linked brakes

Re: CROSS OVER PARTS LIST
It's just a "branch" off the Technical forums "tree" .... here. Take a look at the Board Index.82aspy wrote:i'm not familiar with the parts reference forum ...
(Note to self: A drawing of the whole tree would be helpful ... someday. )

Re: CROSS OVER PARTS LIST
Large O ring for oil filter housing on GL1100 GL1000 and GL1200
Napa Balkamp # 727-2340
Dumped the oil for a quicky change on Friday, and the 0 ring on my filter housing was in pretty bad shape. Napa had this one on the shelf and it fit perfectly, so I got to ride,,,YAY!!!!
Yea, I know, buy a new filter, but I didn't have one and had a few miles built up on the oil. The stealership didn't have a filter in stock.

Does anyone know if any other years would fit an 83 GL I 1100 for the lower fairing cowls?
