Interesting. I would think the lines would have M10 X 1 metric fittings.

I was commenting that the lines on the GL should be metric. And metric hard lines are available, I just don't think that the S312 is metric. On my 1975 GL1000 the thread size on rear master cylinder brake line is M10-1.25
The line going into the caliper is the same size.

I made a new hard line for my ‘76 by using 3/16” hard line and re-using the original flare nuts.
