Re: A few Valkyrie questions
Great banner. I have a smaller version, but still rather large. It occupies a place of honor in the shop...just above where the Bumblebee sleeps.

Re: A few Valkyrie questions
Liam,
After seeing you standing next to a 4-cylinder wing, I know you'll love the 50% increase in everything the Valk offers.
I ended up with a spare set of OEM front turn signals when I purchased a trailer hitch from a guy. They clamp directly to the forks. If you pay shipping, they're yours. Not sure if that's a deal considering I'm across the Pond. Might be cheaper just to find some additional spot lights over there.
Also, those foot pegs are backwards but they're also not typically installed in that location (they're actually sold as highway pegs). I believe you can just remove the big bolt through the center and swap them. I also have a spare set of OEM foot pegs if you want those as well.
As far as the http://www.valkyrieriders.com forum, I agree with previous assessments regarding the banter that gets thrown around in there. I get in for the tech information and get out. There are some knowledgeable folks in there, but they also attract a bunch of loud mouthed ranters. On top of all that, they have an ongoing issue with some users not getting email notifications (I'm one of them). They blow it off as "you must have some spam filtering enabled" - I don't - well, actually I do but it doesn't catch any of their email. They simply don't have a Whiskerfish, by any means.

Re: A few Valkyrie questions
I’ve put 25,000 miles on my Valkyrie since I’ve owned it. The only trouble I’ve had has been an alternator that squeals when it’s cold ( it is still on the bike) and fork seals.
The machine has been a delight to ride and to own. One of the funny things about Valkrie ownership is that virtually no one ever checks their oil.
Ever.
It’s an exercise in futility. If you really want to check your oil, look on the garage floor underneath it. If there’s no oil there, it’s still in the motor.
I wish you the best of luck with yours, Liam.

Is this the picture you mean? I do make the bike look small I suppose.sgwilly wrote:Liam,

Dang! I’ve seen the shot of you near an 1800, but had not seen this one. You are, sir, what we would have called where I grew up down south as a “big ole boy”.
Nice motorcycle, too.

Re: A few Valkyrie questions
This is something, I just bought a 2000 Valkyrie just a couple of weeks ago that had been a accident. One fork was bent, the headlight, and instruments were trashed. I was able to get a clear title with the owners manual and a lot of records. I have the one fork that was bent straighten and back on and can ride it. Still need the other parts before I can get it back on the road. Dannie

Nobody has posted here in a while but I wonder Liam if anyone answered you about the
mounting hardware for a windshield on your forks.
Quick detach with an Allan wrench.

Re: A few Valkyrie questions
Hello Liam, I was wondering about which windshield mount you are asking about? By the way, are you blind? I do the same thing when I look at the Son.

Re: A few Valkyrie questions
Does this help at all?
Also, if you're looking for a windshield I have one I'll sell for cheap that mounts the same to the forks with the same brackets you have.
