Also, there is a pretty good Valkyrie riders club forum with only a few prima donnas. Lots of information to be had there. Here’s the link:

That is one of the ones I was looking at. It seems all US based. They would hardly allow the likes of me to play.
I don't frequent that board much. Really, I only go for the technical archives. There's waaaayyyy too much political banter infusing the forums. Not well policed at all. Not sure about tolerance level for Europeans (or others). Can't imagine why that would be a problem - and don't recall anything to that effect.
It is 3 days now since I applied to join, still no email from them.

I put a deposit on one in 97 which retailed for $13k otd. With a back log of orders and being a confirmed full dresser owner, I asked myself what was I thinking so canceled. Paid $13,000 otd for my new 93 Aspencade, a much better deal.

The 97 valk was proclaimed to be the first mass production motorcycle to pump 100 hp/ft lbs of torque :<)

Although Honda sold a fair number of them, I was always surprised it didn't do much better. It has the look, it does everything pretty well, and is as reliable as a door stop.

I really like my Valkyrie.
I bought it insurance totaled with 750 miles on it for $3K.
Parts from 6 different motorcycles and $500. later I had an essentially new bike.
Today it is on it's 4th. darkside, has 115K on the clock and is still going strong.

I think that the Valkyrie's downfall was that it was a Big Honda cruiser in the era of Big Harley cruisers.

Fantastic buy, well done you!

Gotta agree, it's what I was thinking, sort of an anti-Harley. If I didn't weigh 155 and only reach 5'8" I'd have to get one!

...a fellow and his 17 year old daughter rode to the annual Inzane (Valk gathering) in Taos from Texas this year. She rode her own Valkyrie! She was not a large young lady.

Calif wingnut you must have a huge collection of really interesting stuff. Those pictures you posted have given me a pretty good idea of what I need to do.
I still got no reply from my request to join that forum, but you know what, they can keep it. There is better information and help to be found on here.

Just a wing junkie of 43 years is all Liam. A friend sold his HD for a Valk and liked it very much. I do know the rear shocks were junk on his from the get go that were replaced several times under warranty.

A valve rocker cover. A bit tarnished, but not damaged in any way.
Will clean up very nicely.

I am looking now for Engine bars and the front timing cover.
These are difficult to find in good condition.
