Does anyone know what the standard size is for a low speed jets are on 1100 carbs Off hand ? I have a set that I rebuilt a couple of years ago that the bike ran really sweet, but it now will only run well over 2200rpm (low speed jets) . I removed the carbs and 3 of the 4 low speed jets were plugged solid, I now have them opened up again and am running them in my sonic cleaner. I noticed that these jets are numbered 47’s and I know that the stock 1000 low speeds are 35’s as are most idle/slow speed jets on most Honda’s I’ve worked on.

So I’m just wondering if someone changed these ?

I do not recall ever seeing a breakdown of the 1100 jetting. Very curious considering the amount of info regarding 1000 jetting out there.

Whiskerfish, yep , same here. I have Mike Nixon’s excellent book on rebuilding 1100 carbs out in my shop that I’ll look at once I get dressed and walk up there. It has a lot of good stuff in it but not sure if it address’s any jetting though. We’ll see and I’ll report back.

I searched and couldn’t find any details of differences but Randakks kits include three sizes 34, 35, and 41 as do some others. Partsnmore states that 35 is the stock size and also sells a 38 and a 42 for higher flowing exhaust systems.

Thanks Eric, I just looked at parts-n-more myself and found the same, my set looks like 47’s so somebodies changed them, it has a Suprtrapp system on it, so I need to noodle on this a bit to decide if I want to lean it down a bit.

It ran pretty sweet when I rebuilt them a couple of years ago, I did reduce the mains from 145’s to 140’s then, and it really cranked, so maybe I’ll just leave well enough alone. Normally I’d just check the a/f ratio with my Sun Machine but with the end caps on the Supertrapp mufflers prevents me from putting the probe into the exhaust, may have to get creative here. Maybe just put it back together and go for a ride, after the snow is gone!!

Often riding fixes them …

^^^^ 🤔🤔😁😁👍👍,,,,, prolly just me obsessing a bit

Well, I just pulled the jets out of the sonic cleaner and now that they’re clean I can see the low speed jets are 42’s not 47’s so I’m not going to worry about it ! Just ride it !

Still not the factory 35’s but with the SuperTrapp exhaust and the inherent leaness of the oe 35’s I believe the 42’s will be correct.
