tires look SWEET!
did I miss the part about where you sourced your new brake lines?
I ask because I would like to do mine as well and since we have twins...
I've looked at several places and didn't really trust any of them. if you wouldn't mind, at your convenience, passing along some contact info.

I've gotten three sets now from Apexbrakes.com. This last time I had problems with the website so I just emailed Raymond Chan @ havetodoit@hotmail.com. Decent price, fast turnaround, and quite responsive. I've seen posts of his on Facebook as well.

The tires are Shinkos 777 'reinforced' "for heavy cruisers and touring" and they are beasts! I've had good luck with other Shinkos, so we'll see how these do.

I just ordered them for an 86 Aspencade. Finished the install today, and all went well, good fitment. Just an FYI, just plan on removing the fairing and mounting bracket as one unit. I figured I could just loosen the fairing from its bracket. What a PITA!
As mentioned earlier, if you're replacing the clutch lines as well, you'll need to cut and double flare the hard line between the flex lines. I passed on that project for the time being...

All the lines are on! The front left caliper (front master) and the clutch slave cylinder bleed easily using a MityVac. The linked brakes, not so much.
After pulling the rear master cylinder, I found I had somehow contaminated it with grease, so that needed to be cleaned out. Tried again with the hand vac, no joy. Even broke the pump handle! Grrrrrr!

Rechecked the lines and found the front line connection was leaking (of course it's the one that's buried under everything in the fairing...
Then I had to figure out how to bleed that mile long line...

Popped in a sync adapter, ran a line to the bleeder, and started the engine. While the vacuum is a pulse, it worked great! Fifteen minutes later, I had both front and rear brakes!

All back in one piece, and ready for some miles of smiles!
The final touches, other than an oil change, will be upgrading and adding some extra lighting (the necessary stuff, not farkles, lol! ).

Scrubbed in the tires on a 100 mile jaunt yesterday, and aside from needing to tweak the brake bleeding a bit, everything looks and feels hunky-dory.
As for being ready for next month's run, it looks like that's not going to happen. Too many unexpected expenses. We decided to update our riding gear this year, especially helmets, and that's a real chunk of change! And after crawling around while working on this bike, I decided I'm in need of a decent table lift as well.

I hear you about the expenses. I'm still planning on being there with limited spending for sure. I too could use a new helmet but a lift table is not in my seeable future. Even if it was, I don't have a garage to store it in.

Well... as we all know, 38 year old vehicles always seem to need something or another attended to...
On my last ride before winter hibernation, the 1200 (now named Daisy, BTW) had a major electrical failure. Symptoms pointed to a poor battery, and I chalked that up to its age and the fact that I didn't ride at all toward the end of the season. I had noticed no problems previously.
Being that it was headed to storage anyway, I didn't investigate deeper, figuring she'd get a new battery this spring, and all would be good. Ummm, nope! I did find one electrical issue fairly quickly; the ignition switch contacts were heavily oxidized. Good to go, right?
Hardly got 15 miles in on my first ride this spring, and had the same issues, I would lose all instrument displays and headlight randomly, the engine would cut out then restart, etc.
Limped her home and dug out the multimeter. Not charging! Grrr! Snipped the previously soldered three yellow wires, and had my quick and painful answer. All three wires tested continuity to ground. Looks like an alternator adaptation is in my future...

Yes, it seems pretty straight forward, although there's some controversy concerning the pulley size, etc. Electrical functions are not my specialty, either, so I'm sure I'll be stumbling through it.
I need to take a short hiatus from my frustrations, so I moved her back to storage for a bit which will allow me to concentrate on fitting out my shop. Right now I'm running to the storage shed and rummaging through various tool boxes and bins every time I need something...
