I was at the Gilmore show and Janus had a display of their bikes. I was taken back by the vintage appeal and craftsmanship. They offer a 250cc street & scrambler, and a 450cc street bike.

Here’s the Halcyon 450.

I love the look and the idea, and the new 450s are especially sharp. The fact they're essentially handbuilt about 1.5 hours from my house is cool too. But I've got a real hard time paying what they charge for them new, for what you get.

Gonna keep an eye on that used market, though...

Leading link suspension. Been around for a long time. Many sidecar outfits with them.

Same suspension as my CT90 and (eventually) my 305 Dream. Admittedly I have a pretty small reference pool, but while they feel super odd compared to telescopic forks, in some ways I actually prefer leading link.

I live about 50 north of Goshen, Indiana. Back in June; made the short trip down, took a factory tour, and got to test ride a Halcyon 450.
They mentioned to rev the engine to 4500rpm while taking off. I did that and was off, headed out of town into the Amish country side. The bike accelerated through the gears well (5 speed). Brakes were excellent (Brembo). The combination of the spring seat and rear suspension made for a surprisingly comfortable ride. Handling was better than I was expecting. Handlebar position wasn’t where I’d like it, but it could be adjusted. I was impressed with the bike overall, but the price kept me from putting down any money. After mauling it over for two months decided to get one. Was told it was going to be 6-10 weeks. Hopefully they can find a way to finish it sooner. Would be great to ride it to the All Clubs Day in Stockbridge, Michigan.
The factory was once a laundry mat, expanded to accommodate their needs. The photos show the bikes which are ready for shipping or customer pick up. Good down to earth people to deal with. Bike are made to order with your choice of multiple colors and various options.

Forgot to mention; the “pedestrian splitter” in the front fender can be left off or customized. Most of the bikes have the splitter and left with the factory JM production number for each model. Mine will be JM 213.

Nice. I try to get out to Stockbridge every year. It's a straight shot north about an hour or so for me, so it's a really nice ride. I'll have to keep an eye out for you.

Haven’t taken delivery yet (2-4 weeks out). I did attend the rally. Pretty cool. 60+ bikes attended, some rode in from Texas and Washington State.

Photo without the saddle bags. Also, the tail light will likely be replaced with a vintage 1930’s type. Bike doesn’t come with a kick start. Would be cool to add one. By my research; the engine looks like a mix of Honda XR400, TRX400 and some sort of big bore kit (440cc).
