So,
I've had this ol' 1976 parts bike sitting back in a corner for quite some time.
I figured that I would dig it out and see exactly what I have.

When I pulled off the belt covers, I instantly saw this and thought to myself...
Cool, this one hasn't been butchered by a previous owner:
Then, off came the carbs and... wow, I've never seen that before:
Then... the heads:
Obviously this was welded with the head still in place on the bike.
why? IDK.
But I don't think it fixed whatever problem he was having.

...And to think that seeing RTV sealant used to be a red flag.

After the obligatory soak in the gas bucket...
RTV.

Yikes!

If a little RTV is good, but a lot is better. Right?

To state the obvious: That's not a head you want to bolt back on, or maybe you do.

When I saw the carb tops, which seem to be corroded by some sort of acid, I thought maybe something really noxious had also dripped across the head.
