I need to refurbish or get “new” rear shocks for my GL 1100/1982 std. I am intended to use the stock air suspension types, which most likely forces me to refurbish. However, someone offered a nice pair of shocks for a 1200/1986 without rust on the chrome. Does anyone know whether rear shock form GL 1200 are interchangeable with GL 1100?
Thanks,
Hans

The 1200's shocks will fit, but are one inch longer, so not an exact replacement. I've fully refurbished several sets of 1100 shocks and had fairly good results removing rust using a buffer and appropriate compounds. Fixing the faded stickers are another matter...
