Hello from Newmarket Ontario

#1

Post by Geropat »

I found myself in possession of a neglected 1981 Goldwing in November of 2019. I have been attempting to restore the bike and get it back on the road in my free time. Many thanks to all who have posted such valuable information here, I would not have been able to do this without you. I'm hopeful that this coming season I will be able to take my first ride on a "wing". I will try and post some pictures of my progress.

Welcome from Wisconsin! I'm kind of partial to the 1100's myself, they're a great bike. I hope you followed the 'first rule for a new 2 you Wing,' which is to change the timing belts, lol.
Enjoy the ride!

Welcome and look forward to your project. These older Gold Wings are great rides once on the road.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Nice to see that some of you are so close by. As far as posting pictures, I'm wondering where the best place to do that is? should I start a new thread in "members restorations and projects" ?

Good place to start a thread on your work, sort of like keeping a journal on what you're doing and have done. Look forward to your new thread on the bike project.

Grew up in the Barrie area, still have family there, and in the north just past New Liskeard.

Cheers

Welcome. I'm near the southeast corner of Lake Simcoe and I have a lot of stuff I removed from the '82 that I bought for the engine so if Gord (Rat) doesn't have what you need I might.
