Hello CF. You have been most generous with your advice. Thank you. The carb caps are all solid. I have decided to strip the bike for parts. I am about a third of the way through the 76 rebuild and, considering the condition of the carbs and probably the engine internals on this 75, it is just more than I want to take on. I will keep a few parts, like the grab rail but, in the end I will have a bunch of decent 75 parts to sell along with a very solid frame with title. You seem to be a carb man. I will now have an extra rack of 77's, (rough) and this set of 75's. I will keep the good slide covers with the solid caps. Do you want any of the bodies or parts? Can I restore a 75 that has been sitting under a tree for 23 years?

Thank you all for the encouragement. I hope you won't think too poorly of me but, at 74 and half-way through the 76 rebuild, I have decided not to take on the 75 rebuild. The condition of the engine is unknown and highly questionable. Similarly, I am not inclined to do a third carb rebuild. I have a lot of parts removed already. I will keep a few, (including the grab rail which will go on my 76 Ltd.) but I'll be glad to see many of these parts put to good use. I thought I would give those of you who have been helping me on this forum first shot at any. Here is a pic from earlier today. Disassembly is going well.

I am currently restoring two 1975 GL1000s and this one looks better than the ones I am working on. I totally understand you not wanting to get in over your head with projects. The shipping gets expensive, so someone in your local area would probably be the best way to sell most of the large parts.
