Howdy!
I just recently (yesterday) brought home a 1984 GL1200 Interstate that I picked up for $400 that I am going to try to make into a Bobber over the fall/winter/spring (or however long it takes ). Seeing that I do not have a heated garage and live in North Dakota, I will be at the mercy of mother nature. I have quite a few ideas on what I would like to do, but I am sure this place with be my 2nd home when I get lost or discouraged.
The bike has not been run in at least 3 or 4 years and when the previous owner hooked up a new battery and turned on the switch, smoke came from the wiring. After pulling of some of the shroud pieces, I could see parts of a mouse nest, so I am guessing they ate through some of the wiring shielding. We shall see when I dig into it more.
