Did you ever made hydraulic clutch kit for 76 GL1000 or not??
thanks for your reply
I'll jump in here. Yes, he has made and sold some. I don't know if he has any ready to go right now. Some of the parts I think are a little harder to find.

1985 Honda Elite

1992 ZX7 Dragbike (KZ900 style motor w/NOS)

I have been asked about the black residue that sometimes shows up on a part while being polished. It can be frustrating, as it does not always buff off. I believe this to be caused by two things. 1. the buffing wheel is loaded up with compound and oxide, and 2. the part is too cold.
In the first instance, I clean my wheels using a very aggressive rasp. I turn the teeth so they face into the oncoming wheel. After doing this, I use a heavy rag and wip the face of the wheel as it is turning. In both instances, you must be very careful to not get the rasp or rags caught in the wheel. Always wear a safety shield and stand to the side. I usually find this to cure the problem of the residue.
the other time I have noticed the residue buildup is when it is cold out. The part warms up when polishing, and the compound works great. If I slow down however, the compound solidifies (wax/grease) and sticks to the cover. So, I believe the part warms up and melts the compound, then cools down and the compound solidifies and sticks to the part. I find by polishing with the temp above 55 degrees, this issue does not generally show up.
to remove the black reside after the part is finished, there are a number of methods.
1. Mineral spirits (works well, but must be washed off to avoid leaving a haze)
2. Lighter fluid (works great)
3. Peanut butter (works reasonable well)
4. Acetone
5. Hot water and liquid dish soap (I do this as a finish no matter what) takes elbow grease with a soft cloth to remove the residue.
Whatever you do, do not use an aggressive degreaser such as simple green. The cleaner will ruin your otherwise beautiful finish.

Just finished up some GL1200 Intakes on spec. $80 shipped in the US. First time I have done 1200's, they are a bugger to polish, but look real nice when done. These are ready to ship. so let me know if you want them.

After a recent unfortunate theft of my polishing equipment, I have added a new polishing machine to the shop. It is a 1HP 14 amp Grizzly G1061 with extended shafts. Back in business! I want to thank Jimmyz for saving my bacon by allowing me to use his polisher at his house this past two months.
It felt good to walk into the Grizzly showroom and plunk down the coin, walking out with a brand new machine.

New prices will be going into effect October 1. Supplies, such as bars and wheels have nearly doubled in the last two years. It seems a number of suppliers have gone out of business, and the remaining ones have taken advantage of the situation.
