It is still cold out but the wind has blown the middle of that patch more or less clear. It is the typical brownish/greenish colour of last fall's grass in the middle but I'm sure I saw a brighter green in places around the edges when I looked out the window on Friday afternoon.

Unless I was just seeing what I wanted to see.

Well, I have to go now. Looking at the weather I have a strong compulsion to start my Xmas shopping today....

My Daffodils are blooming, tulips up out of the ground. Planted about 20 Giant Elephant Ears yesterday. Mowed some grass by the deck. I do believe spring has sprung here. Could still get frost for next 4 weeks though.

Green stuff is popping up in our gardens, at least the portions of the gardens that are within a few feet of the house with a sunny exposure. No snow on the ground, but the forecast does have a wee bit of snow today and tonight. But then back into daytime highs in the 40-50s F by Wednesday, so if it does snow it should be gone quickly. But this is Calgary, I do not take the snowplow off the truck till May crying1

37 here now. Calling for 70's Wednesday and back to a high in the 40's on Friday. Supposed to smoke chickens Wednesday but that just means I have to stop in here every hour or so to check the smoker. Should be able to get out for a couple short rides I hope.

It was just cold enough last night that the dirt roads were hard so I took Concession 1 on my way to work (Gord knows the one I mean). There were a lot more potholes than there were the day before so I think I'll stay on the pavement for a few days and then see if they have graded it. Loose stuff under Eccles' front wheel isn't too much of a problem, especially with the K270 on it :-D

With my oil leak fixed, this was the first day this year I have been able to come home from work without snow or rain pants over my work pants biggrin

Took the gl and cx out on the 10th nice 77 degrees cx ran fine.

Gl not so much got a leaky needle so guess the left side carbs got some crud so they need to come off.

then the weather degraded only in the mid high 50's to mid 60's

tomorrow is supposed to hit 77 then a week of perfect weather

maybe a trip around our mostly dirt california lake.

the sierra's and tehachapi's will be cold for a few more weeks

in june the plan is to ride breckenridge road from calente bodfish to hwy178 in bakersfield

and loop back thru kern canyon to lake isabella

nice all day ride and will be first time for me any body in the area is welcome to ride along\
